I know thousands of farmers. I’ve worked with farmers for 15 years. I love my farmers. But I know that it’s easy to forget that it takes people to grow food because we buy most of our food from grocers and we don’t have a FACE to go with the food. So today is a day to celebrate and thank the farmers who grow the food we enjoy everyday.
- I’m thankful for cheese & nuts – because they make me feel like a gourmet.
- I’m thankful that I have the choice to buy my food at the farmer’s market, supermarket, neighborhood market, and online market.
- I’m thankful for all the fresh fruits and vegetables in my kitchen and that my body craves them.
- I’m thankful for olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and basil, because they’re good with everything.
- I’m thankful that I don’t wake up or go to sleep hungry.

ah, I ❤ this. I ❤ you. I ❤ farmers!
I love everything on this list… ESPECIALLY #5… so very thankful for that also. So Very.
I also love olive oil, balsamic and basil. AND Basil, my Pup!!
Love this. It’s so easy to forget the faces behind the food when we buy food at big box stores (which I try to avoid). We still have local farmers with road-side produce stands but our farmer’s market is closed for the winter. I’m thankful we have local farmers that I can support!
Kris,
I love this list! It’s so similar to something I would write. I love the simple foods, too. Olive oil is one of my most favorites. And of course fruits and vegetables. Thanks for the #FoodThanks!
Thank you! Simple is lovely, eh? I’m 43 and have weird history in the kitchen – so I have to stay simple – cuz I’m just not that clever! And yes, we have so much to be thankful for in terms of food – choice, abundance, health, access – so many #foodthanks. Thanks so much for stopping by!
