Music has been a huge key for me lately – it clears my head, makes me smile, helps me sweat, and I’ve been known to erupt in a spontaneous jance (Jog + Dance). At work, I’ve dialed in a Groovy Office Music Station on Pandora with some lovely Jackson Browne, James Taylor & Alison Krauss.
Do you groove at work? If so, what to?

Yes – all the time! I draft procurement contracts and it requires a fair amount of concentration, so our entire team of 30 procurement analysts have been given our own headphones by our employer so we can tune each other out when need be. I usually listen to John Mayer and Michael Buble at work. At home when drafting blog posts I listen to NKOTB.
Procurement contracts? You’ve got to be kidding! I would have never guessed that! Love John and Michael – soooo easy breezy… Uh, I’m old… what’s a NKOTB?
I don’t work but I am a big one for quiet. I think it really kicked in when my husband lost his job over 5 years ago and was home all day with me and I missed having the peace and quiet of the house to myself for a few hours every day. I stopped listening to the radio in the car and just appreciate the silence. I do like music when I work out at the gym and when I have to do some serious house cleaning:)
I hear you – there is so much clutter & noise – quiet is lovely 😉 Hmmmm – I think I need more quiet too – I’m all about “more” …
Interesting! I find that it’s hard to concentrate when music’s on, but I’ve heard that music without singing is better… Maybe those who listen to music don’t have doors, that could make me tune in for sure!
I hear you – if I have to do hard writing, no music. But even for data analysis and other “mind” work, I do like my music. And yes, I do have a door, but I don’t play it loudly. I only close the door for conference calls when I want to squeeze in some pushups 😉
I’ll either have music playing, or more often than not, I’ll play a podcast of some of my favorite shows.
I love listening to Pandora! But my taste is style varies depending on my mood. One day I will be listening to Taylor Swift radio and there are days I will listen to Josh Groban, Sarah Brightman, Mozart, Chris Tomlin or whatevermoves my mood.
